Young Women

The purpose of the Young Women Committee is to develop and implement a program to educate and to encourage Young Women to utilize their gifts in service to God through LWML.

The deadline to submit the Young Woman Representative application is February 15, 2025.

Young Woman Representatives Program

District young woman representatives are selected at the society or zone level to participate in the biennial LWML Washington-Alaska District Convention. District YWRs participate in special programming geared towards young women, and also learn more about LWML at the district level.

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity (1 Timothy 4:12).

Young Woman Representatives at LWML Conventions

Two young women are selected by the Young Women Committee to attend the LWML convention (national) as representatives of our district. These young women (known as young woman representatives) attend the convention alongside their District President, as well as participate in a special program geared toward young women provided by the LWML Committee on Young Women. As  YWRs, they will be asked to share their experience at the national convention at the society, zone or district level. YWRs will also participate at the district level by serving on a committee for at least two years after attending the LWML convention.

You can help!

Our committees are requesting your help in sharing information about the convention with all women but especially the young women and the Heart to Heart Sisters, women of all nations. Encourage them to attend, share your story of past favorite keynote speakers, mission speakers or Christian Life skits. Please copy and share the convention information with the young women (ages 18–35) and Heart to Heart Sisters of all Nations of your local groups with personal invitations for them to experience the blessings and joy that we all receive through LWML and at convention.
