Heart to Heart Sisters
The Heart to Heart Sisters program is an intentional effort to ensure that multicultural women of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) participate in the fellowship and service of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Greetings from Kelsie Ingham, H2H Committee Chair
I’ve been asked why we need a “special committee” and can’t just be a part of the group. Every Heart to Heart Sister is a member of the LCMS Church. Every Heart to Heart sister is a member of LWML. Every Heart to Heart Sister believes Jesus Christ is our LORD and Savior.
We need the Heart to Heart program to help us identify and celebrate our unique cultures, support each other, and share ways to incorporate our cultural background as we make a joyful noise to our Lord (Psalm 100: 1).

Comments from Heart to Heart – Sisters of all Nations after the 2024 WA-AK District Convention:
- Heart to Heart Sisters really taught that God loves everyone – regardless of ethnicity, location, or station of life.
- I learned my differences are a positive for me and everyone else.
Ideas for celebrating cultures:
- What Lutheran doesn’t love a potluck? How about making a dish from your cultural background? Swedish meatballs, dal makhani, fufu, and baklava for dessert.
- Suggested devotion: Woven Threads - Lutheran Women's Missionary League (lwml.org)
- How about an afternoon or evening arts festival? Each member can teach a cultural craft (origami, beading); art (stippling, calligraphy); music, dance, or even storytelling.
