Motto: Serve the LORD with gladness! (Psalm 100:2)

Mission Statement:  As Lutheran Women in Mission, we joyfully proclaim Christ, support missions, and equip women to honor God by serving others.

Vision Statement: The LWML is the leading group for LCMS women where each woman is welcomed and encouraged to use her unique God-given gifts as she supports global missions and serves the Lord with gladness.

Jennifer Perkins from Trinity HOPE School has asked our district members to pray:

Dear Father God, shield our loved ones in Haiti with grace and mercy. Guard them from all harm--physical, emotional, and spiritual. Be their refuge in times of trouble. We ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus. Amen.

Dear members of the LWML Washington-Alaska District, please pray for these precious children as they suffer the effects of the hurricane (Mission Grant #13 Trinity HOPE - Feeding Haitian Children for the Kingdom). You can visit the Trinity HOPE website here.

Greetings to Washington-Alaska LWML members!

From Carolyn Holbrook, District President

What a memorable and inspiring convention in Omaha, Nebraska, in June! There were over 3,700 attending to “Grow in God’s Grace” through Word, Sacrament, and uplifting speakers. We saw the results of previous missions where hurting and needy were supplied both physically and spiritually. We were challenged to continue our work, even when times are tough and money is tight. Together we can support the Lord’s work.

Washington-Alaska District has mission grants waiting to be paid. One major goal is the feeding of the children in Haiti where life is more than just a struggle. As you prepare meals for your family, or shop for groceries, won’t you think of the starving children who have so little? Will you drop some dimes and dollars in your mite box to help raise the needed funds we voted to provide? Look how the mites add up when we come together!

Our zones are having fall rallies and events soon. Join with your sisters as you ‘Grow in God’s Grace” by participating in Bible studies,  in-gathering events, and mite giving. Bring a friend to share LWML and help her grow. At the convention, our President, Eden Keefe, reminded us of how unique LWML really is in the world. We are a volunteer-based organization with the goal of keeping the Gospel emphasis in our mission grant support. Not making money for our benefit. Helping others with physical needs, but with the opportunity for eternal benefits.

Remember our LWML Mission Statement? As Lutheran Women in Mission, we joyfully proclaim Christ, support missions, and equip women to honor God by serving others. As we bring our needs and requests to the Lord, please ask His blessing on our mites that we may joyfully provide for others for their physical and spiritual needs. As we grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through Word and Sacrament, we will grow to serve Him and proclaim His glory!

May the Lord richly bless you in your service to Him!
